Hyderabad

We flew home Monday for a quick repack in Chennai.  Kerry and I caught a 6a flight to Hyderabad to meet with our Indian partner’s Director of Marketing.  There was a bit of miscommunication as to the purpose of the trip, but we learned as we stepped into a hospital CEO’s office that we were pitching our product.  We quickly pulled out our laptops to find some relevant data, locate a powerpoint slide or two, and basically complete a sales call.  Could have used some pointers from Booth.  But all went well, and we received buy-in from a few key opinion leaders in Hyderabad which, we learned, is the neonatal capital of India.

The Indian partner took us to a fancy lunch at the Taj while we chatted about potential marketing and sales opportunities.  He said if we hit the price point we’re hoping to ($300), we should be prepared to sell thousands of units within the first year.  He’s been in the industry for 15 years, and I trust him.  Fingers crossed he’s right!
